Mission

The mission of the Terrain Functional Health Business Professionals Networking Group is to further the impact of functional, holistic, and adaptive approaches to health, chronic pain, wellness, and chronic disease through the development of a strong, collaborative, and decentralized business practices.

Origin

A number of groups exist for professional networking. Most of them require that no 2 members are in the same industry. In functional health/medicine, there are education based groups for each sub-domain but no group existed to promote business developement.

As well, the preventive health industry is infamously guarded and had very low amount of collaboration.

Terrain Functional Health Professionals Network is a shift from all of these gaps. Business is the way to deliver the educational concepts that drive this industry. Collaboration between businesses and professionals guide the development of new ideas and practices.

This is the paradigm that gave birth to TFHPN.

Goals

Bridge Education and Practice: The better we can bring a collaborative connection between the group of people that train and educate professionals and the professionals out in the field, the better we can fine tune the service and operational success of our industry.

Relationships: We foster relationships with our clients/patients and within our practice but need to have more with colleagues outside of our practice to combine ideas and drive innovation.

Ideas! Only through these relationships can new ideas of care and application be optimized.

Core Qualities

A note from our founder:

Collaborative and Curious - For 30 years, I've observed professionals in preventive healthcare, preventive health, and fitness. The biggest factor stifling the growth of the industry as a parallel industry to the bio-medical/allopathic system is the protective nature of the professionals involved. It seems that the professionals want to keep information 'close to the vest' as it is said.

This is understandable considering that the professionals fight hard to find a position in the market for their skills. Also, I myself have had colleagues replicate long hard built systems with no effort toward a cooperative financial or business relationships.

But, this protective nature inhibits the collaboration required to take on the opposing industry as well as create more clear definitive health outcomes for our client/patients ... for life!

We only take in members that want to expand their scope of influence and their own abilities by learning from others and thinking outside their respective boxes while also sharing their experience, expertise and business processes with others who may benefit.

Educated and Experienced - Academic, self-experience, and anecdotal information are important characteristics of every member and the group as a whole. Each member must come in with a level of these that can be shared.
